Test & Investigation Results

Mid Sussex
How can I find out my test or investigation result?

You can access your test results via the NHS App or the online Patient Access system. Please read on about when and how we will contact you about your test results, but if you need to contact the practice about your test result and cannot access via the NHS App or Patient Access - please call between 3pm - 5.30pm when the lines are less busy,

How long will it take for my test results to come back?

Please be aware that although routine blood test results may be back within a couple of days, they can take up to 10 working days to be processed. X-Ray and Scan results up to 14 days to appear in your medical record.

Will I be contacted if my results are normal or require no further action?

For all tests requested by the practice, due to the high levels of demand, we are unable to routinely contact patients about normal test results or those not requiring any further action.  We will however contact you regarding any abnormal test results that warrant further action.

No one has contacted me about my test results and I am still unwell, what should I do?

If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of having your test or investigation and have ongoing symptoms you are concerned about,  then please contact the practice again to tell us about your ongoing symptoms via Patient Triage or by calling the practice between 3.00pm - 5.30pm. This is so we can assess whether any further action is needed. Please do not contact us before 2 weeks, unless you have reason to believe your symptoms have become more urgent as the extra demand these enquiries create impacts on our ability to deal with urgent queries quickly.

The easiest and quickest way to order your repeat prescriptions is by using the Patient Access online service. Simply log in and select an option.  To be able to do this, you will need to register online. Please ask one of the Patients Services Team for an online registration form or you can click on the link below.
